Randy Gaines is from Salem, Ohio. He is a long-time walleye tournament fisherman with an impressive resume. Randy has high place finishes in the MWA, MWT, NTC, NWT, and is an 8-time MWA Anger of the Year.
He also won the MWC World Walleye Championship on Green Bay in 2016. Randy originally started fishing bass tournaments when he was young and started fishing walleyes in northern Indiana. For Randy, the challenge of figuring walleyes out is what drew him to fishing walleyes and
Randy guides fishing trips out on Lake Erie for walleye, but he also does some perch, smallmouth bass, catfish, and sheepshead trips. When Randy isn’t on the water he is spending time with his family. Randy loves spending time with his wife, son, daughter, and grandchildren.
Randy is pumped for the PWS season and. Randy says part of the draw to the PWS season is the different format with the 5-hour format and knowing who your competitor will be in each tournament. Randy notes how unique this series was with the anglers being part of the process to select the bodies of water that would appear on the circuit. He says that there are some gem bodies of water out there that aren’t normally fished. Randy also points out that some of the bodies of water are new to him in 2021, so that’s a main part of the draw to him fishing this circuit.
